Unique 2D fighter now available for the PlayStation Network
If you’ve been craving something new and exciting to emerge upon the fighting game community, Arc System Works might have the cure to rejuvenate your competitive spirit. Today, the company announced Chaos Code, an original 2D-arcade styled fighter originally released in Asian arcades back in 2011, has finally made its way to PlayStation 3 as a digital download on the PlayStation Network. The game boasts “high-speed” gameplay, which appears to be loosely inspired by Guilty Gear, incorporating a variety of battle techniques including double jumps, guard breaks, enhanced special moves (Chaos Shift), EX moves, and an ultimate final attack referred to as the Destruction Chaos.
Chaos Code features 14 characters including a wok-wielding cheft and a lolita. . .quite an eclectic cast of fighters. For the moment, network play isn’t support, however the developer has been working to develop its own netcode that would be incorporated via a patch in the near future. FK Digital has been closely evaluating the use of GGPO as a possibility, which has been regarded as one of the best network middleware tools for online multiplayer experiences.
You can pick up Chaos Code now for $11.99.
