Google updates YouTube and Gmail apps to rival features on Android

Gmail on iOS gets an overhaul on its interface while YouTube is now available on iPad with AirPlay streaming

Earlier this week, Google has launched the YouTube app for the iPad and updating the app for iOS platforms by adding AirPlay streaming capabilities. The app retains the channel-based navigation and layout features of the site.

Also updated is the standalone Gmail app for iOS. The new map has received a redesign on its interface with a much cleaner look and now allows users to flip easily between accounts and sign in as many as 5 email accounts at once. Another feature added is that it auto resizes making it much easier to read and send messages on the small screen.
