Flashback Origins is Actually Flashback HD

Suddenly, the shocking return of…

Flashback was one of the great Genesis games, not to mention one of the great SNES, PC, and Sega CD games as well.  At the time it was released on any system that could run it in addition to a couple that probably shouldn't have tried, and it was wonderful.  Think a science fiction Prince of Persia to get a rough idea of how it played, with cinematic cut-scenes that looked utterly amazing at the time.  It's been a good long while since Flashback graced the shelves, but like many classic older titles that have sunk into the mire of gaming history, it's poised to rise back to the surface with a shiny new remake.  Flashback Origins is going to be a 2.5D recreation of this classic game, and is being helmed by Flashback's original creator, Paul Cuisset.  It's currently planned for release on PSN, XBLA, and Steam.

Not much more is known about the game at the moment, with only a single screenshot as proof of concept, but it's an awfully pretty one.  We'll be looking forward to bringing more details when and as they become available.
